Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a Pet Care Assistant to join its veterinary team. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist with exams, and support client education while maintaining a welcoming environment for pets and their families.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma, 18+ years old, and at least one year of customer service experience. The role requires strong communication, multi-tasking, and a proactive, compassionate approach to care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography.
• One year related experience required with customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment room with needed medical items and supplies for examinations.
• Maintain the Cycle of Service and provide client education on preventive care.
• Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
• Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests per state rules.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and ensure their comfort.
• Bathed and dipped pets when advised by veterinary staff.
• Clean surgical suite and instruments; maintain hospital cleanliness.
