Job summary

Great Plains SPCA in Merriam, KS is hiring an Adoptions Advisor to guide the adoption process end-to-end and provide outstanding service to the public. The role focuses on matchmaking, safety, and empathetic communication to find loving homes for pets.

Responsibilities include conducting screenings, handling paperwork, and maintaining knowledge of adoptable animals while collaborating with Shelter Medicine and Behavior teams. Weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in sales and customer service in a fast-paced corporate environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive results and movement of animals through the adoption process.
• Ensure safe and successful adoptions through excellent customer service and matchmaking.
• Uphold a culture of high-quality customer service for all patrons.
• Gather information during adoption screenings.
• Manage adoption process from start to finish, including paperwork.
• Diffuse conflicts and de-escalate situations as needed.
• Provide information on GPSPCA services and mission.
• Maintain knowledge of adoptable animals for proper matching.
• Communicate animal medical/behavioral needs clearly.
• Monitor health/behavior and report concerns.
