Job summary

Phillips Academy Aquatics Center in Andover, MA, seeks an Aquatics Swim Coach to provide high-quality, personalized coaching for non-team related competitive swim practices from October through May 2027. You will coach swimmers of all levels to improve technique, speed, and endurance.

The role requires evenings and Saturday mornings, with evaluation, workout design, and supportive mentoring to help athletes reach individual goals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Competitive swimming and / or coaching experience.
• Lifeguard Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, consistent coaching across all levels of ability.
• Evaluate swimmers’ abilities and tailor programs to improve technique, speed, and endurance.
• Teach and refine all competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly).
• Develop, write, and implement structured swim workouts for each practice.
• Monitor performance and adjust workouts based on progress.
• Build positive relationships with swimmers through active listening and engagement.
• Support athletes in achieving their individual goals.
