Job summary

YMCA of Central Stark County (Ohio) is seeking Personal Trainers to design and implement individualized fitness programs for members. The role focuses on creating welcoming environments, assessing goals, and guiding clients within National YMCA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in Exercise Science or related field and/or certification from a nationally recognized accreditation agency.
• CPR/AED certifications.

• YMCA/ACE Foundations of Strength & Conditioning within 60 days of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate client records and progress notes.
• Communicate promptly with clients at initial contact.
• Design and adjust individualized programs per YMCA guidelines.
• Model healthy fitness habits for clients.
• Support YMCA programs, promotions, and events.
• Uphold YMCA character values in interactions.
• Build community partnerships.
• Follow YMCA policies and procedures.
• Part-time staff receive memberships and discounts.

Position Summary

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Interacts with new and existing members by providing specific individualized programs designed to meet his/her fitness needs and goals. Creates a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities.

Rate of Pay

$15 - $20/hour

• Serves as a good role model by maintaining or improving their own personal fitness level
• Supports Y programs, promotions, and events
• Deals with each situation by using the YMCA Character Values
• Develops and maintains community collaborations
• Knows and abides by Y policies and procedures
• Part-time staff receive complimentary memberships and discounted rates for child care and most programs.
