Job summary

Louisville Area YMCA is seeking Personal Trainers to support members with individualized fitness programs in the Louisville area. The role emphasizes creating a welcoming environment and meeting diverse fitness needs in line with YMCA guidelines.

The ideal candidate holds a four-year degree in Exercise Science or related field (or equivalent certification) and CPR/AED certification. Experience with diverse populations is preferred; opportunities include training within YMCA program standards.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in Exercise Science or related field or certification.
• CPR/AED certifications required.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
• YMCA/ACE Foundations of Strength & Conditioning within 60 days of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Maintains well-documented, accurate and pertinent information on each client.
• Follows through in a timely manner on initial communication with client.
• Designs, maintains, and adjusts individual programs specific to the client's needs and wants in accordance with National YMCA guidelines.
• Serves as a good role model by maintaining or improving their own personal fitness level.
• Supports Y programs, promotions, and events.
• Deals with each situation by using the YMCA Character Values.
• Develops and maintains community collaborations.
• Knows and abides by Y policies and procedures.

Education

Position Summary

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Interacts with new and existing members by providing specific individualized programs designed to meet his/her fitness needs and goals. Creates a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities.

Rate of Pay

$15 - $20/hour

Qualifications
