Job summary

YMCA of Central Stark County is seeking part-time Personal Trainers at Paul & Carol David YMCA to tailor fitness programs for members of all backgrounds and abilities. The role focuses on creating welcoming environments and meeting individual goals within National YMCA guidelines.

The position offers a rate of pay between $15 and $20 per hour, with opportunities to support community programs and events while maintaining personal fitness standards.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in Exercise Science or related field or certification from a national accrediting body.
• CPR/AED certifications required.
• Experience with diverse populations preferred.
• YMCA/ACE Foundations of Strength & Conditioning within 60 days of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Maintains well-documented, accurate client information.
• Follows through with initial client communication in a timely manner.
• Designs and adjusts individualized programs per client needs per National YMCA guidelines.
• Serves as a role model by maintaining personal fitness.
• Supports Y programs, promotions and events.
• Upholds YMCA policies and procedures.
• Develops community collaborations.

Position Summary

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Interacts with new and existing members by providing specific individualized programs designed to meet his/her fitness needs and goals. Creates a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities.

Rate of Pay

$15 - $20/hour

Qualifications

• Four year degree in Exercise Science or related field and/or certification from a nationally recognized accreditation agency.
• CPR/AED certifications.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
• YMCA/ACE Foundations of Strength & Conditioning within 60 days of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Maintains well-documented, accurate and pertinent information on each client
• Follows through in a timely manner on initial communication with client
• Designs, maintains, and adjusts individual programs specific to the client's needs and wants in accordance with National YMCA guidelines
• Serves as a good role model by maintaining or improving their own personal fitness level
• Supports Y programs, promotions, and events
• Deals with each situation by using the YMCA Character Values
• Develops and maintains community collaborations
• Knows and abides by Y policies and procedures
