Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a part-time Personal Trainer at Mukwonago, WI. You will conduct private and small group sessions under the Fitness and Wellness Director, developing individualized programs to ensure client safety and goal attainment.

Responsibilities include creating welcoming atmospheres, instructing proper techniques, scheduling appointments, tracking health histories, and promoting training services to meet monthly revenue targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 21 years old.
• Degree in kinesiology, exercise science, health and human performance, or related field preferred.
• A current nationally accredited Personal Training certification is required upon hire.
• A current CPR/AED certification is required.
• Excellent communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Creates a welcoming atmosphere for members, driving personal training enrollments and retention.
• Instructs members on safe and effective exercise techniques, warm-up, stretching, conditioning and equipment use.
• Provides encouragement and expertise to support client health goals.
• Schedules and conducts appointments according to client availability.
• Administers health history questionnaires, fitness assessments and documentation for exercise programs.
• Promotes and sells personal training programs to meet revenue and session goals.
• Communicates effectively via email with supervisors and co-workers.
• Works with all age groups and fitness levels.
• Follows YMCA policies, safety procedures, and reports incidents as necessary.
• Demonstrates ability to stand and be mobile for the majority of shifts.
• Models the Y's core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility.
