Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Personal Support Worker to provide resident care in accordance with care plans and to help maintain a safe, supportive environment. The PSW will observe, document, and report on resident needs while participating in ongoing education and onboarding of new staff.

The role emphasizes infection control, teamwork, and compassionate care for geriatric residents, with a strong commitment to quality and respect within a diverse community.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of simple treatments and bedside care; sanitation and geriatric needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists in monitoring care to ensure alignment with the care plan by observing residents and reporting findings.
• Assists in documenting information pertaining to residents' care.
• Attends in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
• Assists in onboarding new staff as directed.
• Follows IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
