Job summary

Senior Helpers is seeking a Personal Support Worker to provide in-home care, ensuring clients live safely and independently. You will build genuine relationships, support daily living activities, prepare meals, and assist with household tasks to maintain a comfortable home environment.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, strong communication, and flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or alternate weekends, with a focus on improving clients’ quality of life and giving families peace

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for providing care and support to others.
• Excellent communication and client-centred mindset.
• Availability to work non-traditional hours, such as early morning, evenings, and alternate weekends.
• Valid driver’s license (G or G2 Classification), access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance.
• Current vulnerable sector check screening, a clear background check.
• Previous experience in home care or a PSW role is an asset (though we welcome motivated newcomers)

Responsibilities

• Engaging in meaningful conversation and building genuine relationships with clients
• Assisting clients with daily living activities: mobility support, dressing, bathing, and personal hygiene
• Preparing nutritious meals and assisting with feeding or meal routines as needed
• Helping with light housekeeping tasks and supporting clients to maintain a comfortable home environment
• Observing and reporting on changes in clients’ physical, mental and behavioural health; completing documentation of care activities
