Job summary

AM WELL ASSISTANCE SOLUTIONS LLC is seeking compassionate Personal Support Specialists to provide non-medical care to seniors and individuals with disabilities in their homes across Maine. You will help clients maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life.

The role covers ADLs, mobility, light housekeeping, meal support, companionship, transportation, and health observation. A Maine PSS certification or willingness to train is required, along with reliable transportation and a HS diploma.

Qualifications

• Must have Maine PSS Certification or willing to complete training.
• Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and proof of active auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Provide mobility support including transfers and fall prevention.
• Perform light household tasks such as laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and tidying living areas.
• Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation according to dietary needs.
• Offer companionship, engage clients in social activities and hobbies.
• Transport clients to appointments and run essential errands.
• Observe and report changes in health to the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Mobility Support: Provide help with walking, transfers (bed to chair), and fall prevention.
• Household Support: Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and keeping the living area tidy.
• Nutrition: Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthy meal preparation according to client dietary needs.
• Companionship: Offer emotional support, conversation, and engagement in social activities or hobbies.
• Transportation: Escort clients to doctor's appointments and help with essential errands.
• Reporting: Observe and document any changes in the client's physical or mental health and communicate updates to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Certification: Valid Maine PSS Certification (or willingness to complete training).
• Background: Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
