Job summary

Jimcor Agency Inc. in New York seeks an experienced underwriter to learn the personal lines market and underwrite new business under supervision.

The role focuses on rate setting, policy renewal evaluation, and prompt responses to agents and clients, with on-site marketing visits and collaboration with the underwriting team in a hybrid work environment. You will bring at least 3 years in insurance, a valid producer’s license, strong communication and analytical skills, and knowledge of insurance

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Producer’s License.
• 3 or more years of insurance experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience in standard underwriting practices and procedures is strongly preferred.
• Must possess effective communication, negotiation, and computer skills.
• Must possess strong analytical skills and detail orientation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of insurance coverage forms and their application to exposure is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of applicable Insurance Department regulations and policies is required.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted underwriting practices is required.
• Insurance Industry designations are preferred.
