Hilb Group in Hartselle, AL is seeking a motivated Personal Lines Account Manager to join our in-office team. You will manage an assigned book of business, serve as primary client relationship manager, and coordinate with carriers to ensure service excellence.

Ideal candidates have a minimum high school degree, 3+ years in customer service or sales in property/casualty insurance, strong communication and time-management skills, and proficiency with insurance software such as AMS360.

• 3+ years in customer service and/or sales in the P/C insurance industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent listening and probing skills to identify needs.
• Self-directed with good decision making and time management.
• Proficient PC skills; familiarity with AMS360.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage an assigned book of business as primary client relationship manager.
• Handle inquiries regarding insurance coverages, policy changes and questions.
• Process billing, service and endorsements and related paperwork.
• Liaise between customer and carrier to ensure mutually beneficial relationships.
• Manage renewal/expiration lists, review loss information, and negotiate renewals.
• Maintain knowledge of company systems and offerings.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage an assigned book of business acting as the primary client relationship manager with responsibility for overall account servicing and maintenance
• Handle inquiries regarding insurance coverages, policy changes and general insurance questions as related to lines of business
• Handle billing, service and endorsement requests and process necessary paperwork associated with requested
• Act as liaison between customer and carrier working closely with both to ensure a mutually beneficial relationship
• Handle renewal/expiration list for assigned book of business, reviewing loss information, obtaining updated information, renewal applications, and negotiating renewal pricing when necessary
• Maintain knowledge of all company systems and offerings

Qualifications

• Minimum High School degree
• 3+ years of experience in customer service and/or sales in the p/c insurance industry
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate via phone or email
• Superior listening skills and ability to probe customer needs and opportunities through question-based selling and retention techniques
• Self-directed with good decision making and time management skills
• Proficient PC skills; knowledge of insurance software including AMS360
