The role involves leading a team of case managers and paralegals with occasional travel to Charleston, SC for client meetings and proceedings.

The attorney will draft pleadings, negotiate with clients and insurers, and represent clients in court while mentoring staff and ensuring high-quality legal representation

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership or ability to obtain NC bar within 90 days.
• Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury litigation to resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Conduct depositions and client/witness interviews.
• Provide coaching to team members and supervise paralegals/case managers.
• Perform legal research on personal injury laws.

Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join their team in Raleigh, NC. This role involves managing personal injury cases, including medical malpractice, auto accidents, and premise liability, while leading a team of case managers and paralegals. Occasional travel to Charleston, SC, is expected for client meetings and legal proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of litigation matters to resolution.
• Examine legal and medical data to determine insurance coverage, liability, and damages.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance companies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, demands, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, court hearings, and trials.
• Conduct depositions and interviews with clients, witnesses, and experts.
• Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings as necessary.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
• Conduct legal research and analysis related to personal injury laws.

Qualifications

Education

• Preferred active licensure in the State Bar of North Carolina or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
