Whitley Law Firm Injury Lawyers in Raleigh, NC seeks a Pre-Litigation Attorney with 3+ years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience and team leadership. This in-office role offers one remote day after 90 days, with a Monday–Friday schedule. Responsibilities include case management, team leadership, client relations, and compliance.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the State Bar of North Carolina with good standing.
• Minimum 3–5 years of demonstrated negotiation and settlement experience.
• At least 3 years of experience leading and mentoring staff in a legal setting.
• Minimum 3 years of pre-litigation or similar experience, with personal injury preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload from intake through resolution with a broader team support.
• Develop strong cases with accurate documentation of facts, impacts, and outcomes.
• Analyze data to assess responsibility, risk, and outcomes; guide through research and decisions.
• Maintain clear stakeholder communication and negotiate or pursue ADR as needed.
• Conduct regular reviews to track progress and escalate as necessary.
• Lead and coach non-attorney staff to achieve client-focused results.
• Oversee departmental operations and cross-team collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.

Job description

We"re looking for a Pre-Litigation (Pre-Lit) Attorney with at least 3 years of dedicated experience supporting plaintiff-side personal injury cases and leading a team of legal staff. We do everything we can for our clients and we"re looking for an attorney who is as client focused as we are!

Location: In-Office Raleigh, NC

Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, 1 day remote after 90 days

Responsibilities

Case Management

Manage a high-volume caseload from intake through resolution with support from a broader team. Develop strong cases by ensuring accurate documentation of key facts, impacts, and outcomes. Analyze available data to assess responsibility, risk, and potential outcomes. Provide guidance through research and informed decision-making. Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders and facilitate resolution through negotiation or alternative dispute methods. Conduct regular reviews and interactions to track progress and ensure timely advancement. Evaluate matters for escalation and identify key factors relevant to negotiation or further action.

Team Management and Leadership

Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to team members while promoting continuous improvement. Oversee departmental operations to ensure work progresses efficiently and aligns with organizational goals. Collaborate across teams to coordinate workflows and resolve outstanding issues. Regularly assess processes to improve effectiveness, consistency, and efficiency.

Client and Community Relations

Build and maintain strong relationships to support service delivery and organizational growth. Ensure a positive experience through clear communication, responsiveness, and expectation management. Provide regular updates and discuss strategy and next steps as needed.

Compliance

Conduct research and analysis to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Stay informed on relevant developments to support sound decision-making and compliance.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Juris Doctor(JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the State Bar of North Carolina with good standing.
• Minimum of three to five (3-5) years demonstrated negotiations and settlement experience.
• Must possess at least three (3) years of experience leading and mentoring staff within a legal setting.
• Minimum of three (3) years of pre-litigation or similar experience, with proven experience in personal injury law preferred.

We offer a competitive base salary of $130,000+ Quarterly Bonus opportunity based on experience.
