The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in Durham and Raleigh seeks a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our Personal Injury Paralegals in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. You will manage follow-ups, documentation, and routine case tasks to keep cases moving efficiently while paralegals focus on strategy and client communications.

This role emphasizes organization, task ownership, and teamwork. Full-time, Monday–Friday in-office in downtown Durham or Raleigh; remote work is not

Formación

• Experience as Legal/Administrative Assistant in a personal injury or high-volume setting preferred.
• Strong organization with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with case management systems and medical/legal docs.

Responsabilidades

• Support Personal Injury Paralegals in a high-volume caseload environment.
• Follow up with insurance adjusters on acknowledgments, liability decisions, limits, and status.
• Assist with opening claims, coverage verification, and overflow coverage when needed.
• Track medical liens, subrogation, health insurance, and workers' comp matters.
• Send Letters of Representation (LORs) and assist with MedPay demands.
• Request and monitor medical, employment, and court records/docs.
• Add medical bills to case ledgers and assist with balance checks.
• Respond to provider/adjuster inquiries as directed by paralegals.
• Maintain accurate case notes and reminders in the CMS.
• Provide general administrative and case support to keep files moving.
