Description

StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full-time Personal Care Attendant to join its dedicated PACE/Silver Star team. PACE, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, helps aging individuals meet their health needs in the community instead of in nursing or care facilities. Working at Silver Star, you will be part of a team ensuring PACE participants receive coordinated care to stay healthy and safe.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to Silver Star participants in their homes and/or in our licensed adult day center. Experience caring for elderly adults is required.
• Be compassionate, honest, and communicate effectively. Follow instructions and assist participants with daily tasks.

Essential Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, bathing, meals, and housekeeping.
• Provide transportation to appointments, community events, and outings, assisting participants as needed.

Schedule

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with flexibility to meet program needs, totaling at least 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 1 year of experience caring for the elderly or similar.
• Meet competency standards and be current on immunizations.
• Must be able to travel within Lubbock County using a StarCare vehicle or personal vehicle (reimbursed).

Skills & Abilities

• Proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Office.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English; Spanish helpful but not required.

Additional Requirements

• Pass pre-hire drug and background checks.
• Hold a valid Texas driver’s license, with a good driving record and insurance.
