Description

StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full-time Personal Care Attendant to join its PACE/Silver Star team. PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) is designed to help aging individuals meet their health needs in the community instead of institutional care. Working at Silver Star, you will be part of a team ensuring participants receive coordinated care to stay healthy and safe in the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to Silver Star participants in their homes and/or in our licensed adult day center. Experience with elderly care is required.
• Be compassionate, honest, and friendly, with excellent communication skills. Follow instructions and assist with various tasks to support participants.

Essential Duties

• Assist with ADL's such as grooming, bathing, meals, and housekeeping.
• Provide transportation to appointments, community events, and outings, assisting participants as needed.

Schedule

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with flexibility to meet program needs, totaling at least 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 1 year of experience caring for the elderly or similar.
• Must meet competencies for the role and be up-to-date on immunizations.
• Must be able to travel within Lubbock County using company or personal vehicle with reimbursement; 1 year of driving experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Office.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish helpful but not required.

Additional Requirements

• Pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
• Valid Texas driver’s license, good driving record, auto insurance, and insurability.
