Job summary

CareBuilders At Home, Inc. is seeking compassionate Personal Care Assistants to provide hands-on care, companionship, and daily living support in clients’ homes in High Point, NC and surrounding areas.

You will assist with hygiene, mobility, meal prep, light housekeeping, and transportation as needed. This role emphasizes dignity, safety, and respect, with ongoing training, weekly pay, flexible scheduling, and benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Previous personal care, companion care, PCA, or caregiving experience is preferred.
• Compassionate and empathetic attitude with a genuine commitment to caring for others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow care plans and client preferences.
• Reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting.

• Assist with safe mobility, transfers, positioning, and other non-medical support.
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and maintaining a clean home.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings as requested.

• Observe and report changes in health or well-being to the supervisor.
• Follow care plans, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.

Job Description

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) who take pride in helping others live safely, comfortably, and independently at home. As a PCA, you will provide hands‑on personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities while treating every client with dignity, patience, and respect. Your presence, attention, and kindness can make a meaningful difference in a client's quality of life and provide peace of mind to their family.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other personal care needs within the scope of the client's care plan.
• Provide companionship and emotional support while encouraging each client's independence and dignity.
• Assist with safe mobility, transfers, positioning, and other non-medical support as directed by the care plan and applicable training.
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and maintaining a clean and comfortable home environment.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings when requested and authorized.
• Develop positive and respectful relationships with clients and their families while consistently demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
• Observe and promptly report changes in a client's health, behavior, condition, or overall well‑being to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow all care plans, safety procedures, company policies, and applicable documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous personal care, companion care, PCA, or caregiving experience is preferred.

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, including assisting with mobility and completing light household tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, if required for the assignment.
• Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and drug screening.
• Current TB screening and any other health or credentialing documentation required by applicable law, company policy, or client assignment.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, company privacy policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
