Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a talented Permit Technician to join our team of professionals. You’ll interface with customers to service building department needs, issue and track permits, and maintain organized records through plan review and inspections. You’ll work with plans examiners to ensure consistent processes and assist with public records.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and permitting software is essential, with a minimum typing speed of 50 WPM. Minnesota?

Qualifications

2+ years of administrative support and/or customer service experience.
Permit Technician experience preferred; municipal experience preferred.
ICC Permit Technician Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Interfacing with customers to service building department needs.
Issuing and tracking permits through the process (application, plan review, inspections, closure).
Maintaining organized files, manuals, field reports, blueprints, and data.
Working with plans examiners and inspectors to ensure consistent processes.
Assisting with public record requests and record conversion.
