SAFEbuilt in Lake Geneva, WI is seeking a Permit Technician to join our team of professionals. You will interface with customers to service building department needs and manage the permitting process through application, plan review, inspections, and closure.

The role emphasizes organized record keeping, collaboration with plans examiners and inspectors, and handling public records requests. A background in administrative support and knowledge of permitting software are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of administrative support and/or customer service experience required.
• Accounts Receivable/billing experience is a plus.
• Permit Technician experience preferred.
• Municipal experience preferred.
• ICC Permit Technician Certification is a plus.
• Excellent Microsoft Office Skills required.

Responsibilities

• Interfacing with all customers to service their building department related needs
• Issuing and/or tracking permits through the permitting process, beginning with application acceptance, plan review, inspections and permit closure.
• Establishing and maintaining systems to ensure that all files, letters, reference manuals, field inspection reports, permit files, blueprints, drawings, and other data or material is maintained in an organized fashion
• Working with plans examiners and inspectors throughout the company to develop and ensure consistent processes.
• Assisting with public record requests and record conversion.
