Job summary

Core States Group is seeking an experienced Permitting & Regulatory Compliance Specialist II to lead a defined caseload of permitting projects from application through approval. The role emphasizes client communication, regulatory outcomes, and collaboration across engineering, design, and environmental teams.

You will manage timelines, analyze agency comments, and delegate tasks to junior staff while maintaining strong relationships with regulators and clients. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4–6+ years of relevant experience in permitting, compliance, or related fields.
• Experience in architecture, planning, real estate, engineering, construction, government, or related field.
• Must have Retail petroleum / Underground Storage Tank experience.
• Air quality permitting experience is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client-facing project management.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a defined caseload of permitting and compliance projects from initiation through approval.
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients, agencies, and internal teams.
• Prepare, review, and submit complete permit applications.
• Analyze agency comments and monitor project timelines to meet deadlines.
• Identify risks early and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
• Coordinate across disciplines and maintain proactive client communication.
