Job summary

City of Leander seeks a mid-level Development Services Technician to assist with planning, development, and permitting. You will greet the public, guide applications, conduct completeness reviews, and educate customers on codes and requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of full-time work experience involving public contact in an office setting.
• Must obtain ICC Permit Technician certification within one year from hire.

Responsibilities

• Greets the public in person and by phone with information on development services, licenses, permits, building codes, and development codes.
• Reviews completeness of applications and explains requirements to customers and professionals.
• Explains application requirements and regulations to designers, engineers, developers and the public.
• Coordinates with staff on comment resolution and submittal processes.
• Manages department records and processes payments, refunds, and permits.
• Cross-trains to assist with planning, zoning, development and permitting processes.
