City of Corvallis is seeking a Permit Technician I/II to serve as the frontline contact in Development Services for public inquiries related to development review processes. The role includes processing applications, reviewing plans, calculating and collecting development fees, issuing permits, and coordinating with staff on permitting and code enforcement.

The position offers a journey-level level in the permit technician series with essential duties across multiple divisions.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer relations skills.
• Ability to respond comprehensively to customer questions related to development.
• Ability to assist customers to use online application technology.
• Knowledge of research methods and mathematical calculations.
• Ability to manage multiple high priority requests and coordinate with staff.

Responsabilités

• Coordinates the development review process.
• Accepts electronic plans and documents; conducts preliminary plan review; routes plans to appropriate personnel.
• Obtains information from databases and GIS; interprets data.
• Finalizes permits, calculates and collects fees, issues permits.
• Coordinates with Finance on payment processing, refunds, and reconciliations.
• Maintains electronic permit and plan review systems and supports upgrades.
• Assists with address and master electrical program administration.
• Provides development information to the public about regulations and codes.
