Job summary

City of Albany seeks a Permit Technician in the Community Development Department to assist the public and contractors with land-use permits, code compliance, and the permitting process. You will ensure applications meet requirements and track the review workflow to support timely processing.

This role emphasizes strong customer service, accurate data entry, and clear communication. General hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of customer service and data entry in an office setting.
• Experience handling permits, land use or code compliance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process permit applications and related documents to ensure accuracy.
• Assist the public and contractors with permitting questions and guidance.
• Maintain records and generate reports for staff and agencies.
