Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Housing Specialist to assist homeless families in securing permanent housing. You will manage relationships with brokers, landlords, and various housing programs, coordinating housing referrals, viewings, and intake processes.

You will conduct housing workshops, support clients through applications and leases, maintain detailed case notes, and collaborate with the case management team to support movement into stable housing and eventual discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in social services.
• Experience working with homeless populations preferred.
• Knowledge of housing programs and intake processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist families in pursuing permanent housing and referrals.
• Coordinate housing viewings and intake into housing programs.
• Conduct housing workshops on applications and lease signing.
• Maintain caseload of up to 50 families and document progress.
• Ensure compliance with housing policies and DHS/SA requirements.
• Collaborate with case management to support discharge planning.
