Qualifications

• Good knowledge of the principles and practices of social casework.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide guidance and counseling and maintain documentation.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, relatives, and other individuals through interviews and investigation.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate case records and reach logical conclusions based on regulations and information.
• Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing the care and treatment of children.

Responsibilities

• Investigates cases to determine need and proper care; interviews clients, families, and agencies to support evaluation and treatment planning.
• Works with public welfare agencies, courts, and others to assist with financial, legal, medical, and personal problems.
• Attends staff conferences; prepares reports and maintains case records; tracks case status through established channels.
• Responds to case emergencies after hours or on weekends.
• All progress notes and related documentation are recorded online by the caseworker.
• Ensure progress notes are reviewed by supervisors and corrected within stated timelines.
• Supervisors schedule weekly conferences to discuss each case and reviews interventions.
• Caseworkers must submit progress notes to supervisors within specified deadlines.
• Director monitors timeliness of progress notes and reviews.
• Training on case recording is mandatory for all staff.
