Job summary

Central Research, Inc. (CRI) is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to support the Federal Perkins Loan Servicing program.

The role involves resolving borrower and school inquiries, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality customer service in an office in Lowell, AR five days a week. The ideal candidate has at least one year of customer service or call center experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• US Citizen required.
• Ability to obtain Federal Public Trust (5C) clearance.
• Minimum of one year of customer service or call center experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience using customer account management systems is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field is a plus; office experience may count.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, emails, and online inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Document all customer interactions accurately in the Perkins Servicing System.
• Support end-to-end loan assignments with proper documentation and compliance.
• Coordinate with educational institutions for timely data submissions.
• Perform quality checks to maintain data accuracy.
• Resolve borrower and school inquiries by researching issues and following through.
