Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to support store operations at our Charleston area location. You will lead the Perishable team, drive customer service excellence, and manage daily tasks to meet financial and sales goals.

You will supervise staff, coach performance, and ensure adherence to safety, food safety, and company policies while delivering a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet physical requirements of the position; occasional heavy lifting may be required; accreditation within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise performance and conduct timely evaluations for direct reports.
• Oversee daily labor planning and coaching to meet productivity targets.
• Promote a positive customer service culture aligned with Food Lion values.
• Ensure department scheduling, inventory, ordering and safety compliance are maintained.
• Maintain appearance, quality and sanitation of the department and respond to emergencies as needed.
