Job summary

Food Lion in Charleston, SC is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to lead the department, hire and develop staff, and drive service, quality and profitability. You will supervise daily operations, manage labor, and ensure product freshness while delivering a fast, friendly shopping experience.

You will work with store leadership to meet budget goals, coach associates, and uphold Food Lion's standards and values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Must be accredited as Certified Food Safety Manager or obtain accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates
• Supervise performance and provide ongoing coaching and formal appraisals
• Daily labor management and productivity coaching
• Provide leadership to promote a customer-focused store culture
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
• Ensure exceptional customer service and a positive shopping experience
• Monitor inventory, ordering, and safety compliance
• Maintain department appearance, safety, and sanitation standards
