Job summary

Food Lion in Berlin, MD is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to lead the Perishables team, hire and train staff, and drive store performance. You will ensure product quality, safety, and customer service while managing labor and scheduling to meet budget and sales goals.

You will monitor inventory, control costs, enforce food safety standards, and coach associates to deliver a friendly, efficient shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of store operations preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and be able to meet physical requirements.
• Accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or achieve accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to meet productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture aligned with Food Lion values and strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maintain an enthusiastic customer-focused atmosphere with fast, friendly service.
• Ensure department appearance, quality, and sanitation are consistently maintained.
