Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department Manager in Mint Hill, NC to lead the Perishable team and drive excellent customer service. You will hire, train and coach staff, manage labor and scheduling, ensure safety and sanitation, and help meet budget targets.

You will work with store leadership to maintain product quality, accuracy in inventory, and a positive shopping experience for customers in our market.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of store operations preferred.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager or able to achieve within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise performance of department associates with ongoing coaching and formal appraisals.
• Daily management of labor and coaching to meet productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership and motivation aligned with Food Lion principles and strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maintain an extraordinary customer service atmosphere and positive shopping experience.
