Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of store operations preferred.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Accredited or able to become Certified Food Safety Manager within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise performance of department staff and conduct performance appraisals.
• Daily management of labor and coaching to meet productivity.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture aligned with guiding principles and strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Provide excellent customer service and create a positive shopping experience.
• Role model outstanding service and use product knowledge to meet customer needs.
• Control store expenses through ordering and inventory care.
• Understand and use company tools such as reports, ACIS, scheduling, CAO, and BIS.
• Ensure appearance, quality, safety, sanitation of the department.
• Ensure Perishable Department schedules support extraordinary service.
• Have understanding of scheduling, sales, wage percent, interviewing, and training.
• Ensure proper ordering, receiving, prep, conditioning and display of merchandise.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions.
• Record and report accidents per Food Lion procedures.
• Monitor shrink and coach to prevent losses.
• Utilize advertising and signage for promotions.
• Ensure compliance with local/state/federal regulations.
• Adhere to company guidelines and security standards.
• Complete CBT, training packets, and training aids.
• Provide recognition and constructive counseling to improve customer satisfaction and sales.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
