Job summary

The Perioperative Services Orderly at University of Southern California Arcadia Hospital is responsible for transporting patients to and from the perioperative area and assisting nursing staff with patient positioning.

Role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and current Basic Life Support certification. Prior nursing assistant or orderly experience is preferred. The position emphasizes safety, infection control, and cost-conscious care within USC’s perioperative team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Preferred: 1 year nursing assistant or orderly experience in acute hospital.
• Ability to transport patients and equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from the Perioperative area using proper body mechanics.
• Assist nursing staff with moving and positioning patients.
• Maintain infection control practices and hand hygiene.
• Monitor and stock supplies and equipment; ensure proper functioning of equipment.
• Participate in staff orientation and support cost containment efforts.
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and collaborate with licensed staff.
