Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Nantucket Cottage Hospital seeks a Surgical Technologist to support perioperative care in collaboration with the RN circulator and surgeon. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, instrument handling, and preparedness for diverse procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent program with certification; certification to be obtained within 12 months of graduation.
• BLS/CPR certification within one week of hire; AHA & ARC accepted; professional development certification preferred.
• Surgical Technologist certification required for SEIU Grade 13; one year OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to scope of practice as a Surgical Technologist.
• Maintains a safe operating room environment per policy, AST and regulatory standards.
• Adheres to infection control and isolation protocols, OSHA standards.
• Maintains sterile field and aseptic technique.
• Prepares and uses all supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and handles instruments during procedures.
• Performs instrument decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization.
