Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgeons, nurses, and the operating room team, ensuring smooth and safe procedures. You will prepare the OR, maintain sterile technique, assist with patient positioning and instrumentation, and collaborate closely with the surgical team to deliver high-quality patient care.

This onsite role at 850 Boylston Street offers a day shift and 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist I or similar role required.
• 1-2 years experience preferred as Surgical Technologist in similar setting.
• BLS certification and CST preferred; state licenses may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgery.
• Transport patients to the operating room and assist with positioning.
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.
• Follow sterilization techniques to maintain cleanliness and sterility.
• Maintain documentation of surgical procedures, including counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and team.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site with drapes and solutions.
• Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed.
