Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our perioperative team. This role supports the surgeon as first or second assistant and requires operating room scrub experience under RN supervision.

The position offers sign-on and relocation bonuses to eligible applicants. The candidate should have an associate degree or surgical technology certification, BLS within 30 days, and licensure/certification as CSA or CST as applicable.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent in surgical technology
• Current BLS certification within 30 days
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) or licensed CST/CSA within 1 year

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment and asepsis during procedures
• Coordinate supplies and equipment for efficient operation
• Assist surgeons intraoperatively as first/second assistant
• Prepare patients and assist in pre/post operative tasks
• Operate sterilization equipment and manage room turnover
