Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast is seeking a Surgical Services Attendant for the day shift at Northeast Philadelphia. The role supports nursing staff by transporting patients, equipment, and specimens, while ensuring proper room turnover and instrument handling for perioperative procedures.

Aseptic technique and patient positioning are essential responsibilities. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with preferred 1 year perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic technique and coordination of surgical procedures.
• Ability to position patients and set up/turnover procedural suites.
• Proficient handling and transport of surgical instruments.
• Ability to teach skills to other surgical service attendants.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, equipment, supplies and specimens to and from designated areas.
• Position patients per procedural needs and assist with setup/turnover of suites.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of transportation equipment and inventory of supplies.
• Assist nursing staff in perioperative care as needed.
