Qualifications

• Safety policies and procedures for lifting, moving and transporting patients.
• Observes patients for adverse changes during transport and reports to nurse.
• Ensures equipment is cleaned, maintained and delivered.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by stretcher or wheelchair to clinical areas for treatment or diagnosis.
• Transports non-monitored/stable patients as directed.
• Identifies patients prior to transport and notifies nurse upon completion of transport.
• Maintains cleanliness of wheelchairs, stretchers and equipment.
• Assists with post-mortem transport and disaster drills as required.
