Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the Operating Room by coordinating needs between SPD and surgical teams. You will help ensure case completion, surgeon satisfaction, and patient safety through strong communication and problem-solving.

Requirements include a GED or high school diploma, completion of an approved SPD or surgical technology course, or equivalent experience. CSPDT certification within one year is encouraged.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Graduate of an accredited sterile processing or surgical technology program; hands-on instruction preferred.
• Alternatively, 5 years' SPD/OR experience in lieu of formal course.

Responsibilities

• Bridge the gap between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room to support surgeon satisfaction and case completion.
• Foster interdepartmental communication to enhance patient safety and quality care.
