Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist (PRN) to support perioperative care. You will assist surgeons and nurses, maintain a sterile field, and prepare instruments and supplies for procedures.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to aseptic standards within the Operating Room. Ideal candidates have graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, CST or TS-C certification, and BLS credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through the CAAHEP or ABHES.
• Military surgical technology program completion is acceptable.
• Certification as Surgical Technologist (TS-C or CST) preferred.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, individualized patient care in the perioperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases.
• Maintain the sterile field and comply with aseptic techniques.
• Assemble, open, and count sterile packs, sutures and instruments.
• Assist during procedures by passing instruments and aiding the surgical team.
• Review surgeon-specific preferences and anesthesia requirements.
• Record and manage counts of sutures, sharps, and instruments.
• Ensure proper room utilization and turnover within the OR.

Education

Graduate of Surgical Technology Program accredited through CAAHEP or ABHES

Military surgical technology program

Surgical Technologist certification (TS-C or CST)

BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
