Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Supervisor, Perioperative Services to oversee frontline perioperative staff, coordinate daily workflow, and ensure safe, efficient surgical patient care in alignment with policy and standards.

The role leads onboarding and coaching, monitors competency, resolves staff and operational issues, and escalates complex concerns while partnering with leadership to uphold quality and safety in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Lead by influence as well as authority; manage conflict and negotiate.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

• 5 years Perioperative experience or 2 years supervisory/perioperative experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct frontline supervision of perioperative coworkers.
• Coordinate daily workflow and staffing coverage.
• Ensure efficient and safe flow of surgical cases and patient care.
• Support onboarding, orientation, and training; monitor competency.
• Deliver real-time coaching and corrective action as warranted.
• Identify and resolve operational, staffing, and patient care issues; escalate when needed.
• Participate in quality, safety, and performance improvement activities.
• Exercise independent judgment in managing unit activities.
