Job summary

Scripps Health in San Diego is seeking an RN Supervisor for a 62-bed perioperative unit at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. This Exempt, full-time, benefited role resides in a Magnet hospital and Level I trauma center, with a focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care.

The supervisor will lead the PreOp-PACU team, ensure standards of care, and drive continuous improvement through collaboration with diverse specialists and advanced technology.

Qualifications

• Two years of critical care or PreOP-PACU experience in acute care.
• At least one year of leadership experience (e.g., Charge RN).
• Current California RN license; BLS and ACLS from AHA.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team development skills.
• Ability to plan, execute, and follow through on responsibilities.
• Experience with electronic charting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide workflow support and implement department initiatives.
• Ensure nursing practice reflects established standards and patient safety culture.
• Under supervision of the Patient Care Manager, share leadership for the unit.
• Manage daily staffing plans and bed placement technology use.
• Coordinate patient care across transfer, discharge, and hand-off processes.
