Job summary

Trinity Health in Des Moines, IA seeks a perioperative nurse to provide intraoperative care as scrub and circulating staff. The role requires call, weekends, nights and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities include case preparation, aseptic technique, data collection for nursing diagnoses, and effective communication with patients, families and the OR team. OR experience and Iowa RN license are preferred; BLS and abuse training must be completed within prescribed timelines.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current RN license issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
• OR experience in the operating room preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 weeks of hire; accepted bodies include AHA.
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon and staff.
• Maintains aseptic technique and safe environment in the OR.
• Collects and analyzes data for nursing diagnoses and communicates with team.
• Reads and documents information; participates in room turnover.
• Attends orientation and training, maintains equipment knowledge.
