Job summary

ENT & Allergy Specialists in Florence, KY is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive perioperative care across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op stages. The RN will advocate for patients and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff to ensure optimal outcomes.

The RN will deliver safe nursing care, educate patients, document accurately, and participate in staff training and QAPI initiatives. Flexibility with schedules is required.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
• BLS/ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in surgical or ambulatory care settings preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and patient care assignments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, individualized nursing care in Pre-op, PACU, and OR settings.
• Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and implement care plans.
• Monitor patients post-operatively for progress and complications.
• Educate patients and caregivers on discharge instructions and recovery.
• Participate in admitting and discharging patients in a timely, safe manner.
• Support infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and maintaining a clean peri-operative environment.
• Respond competently to emergency situations and alarms.
• Collaborate in QAPI initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and orientation of new personnel.
