Job summary

Head and Neck Surgery, Assoc., PSC is seeking a skilled PRN Registered Nurse to join our surgical care team in Florence, KY. This role covers pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases, acting as a patient advocate and collaborating with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure optimal outcomes.

The RN will provide patient-centered care across Pre-op, PACU, and OR settings, perform preoperative assessments, monitor recovery, and educate patients on discharge instructions.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
• BLS/ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in surgical or ambulatory care settings preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and patient care assignments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, individualized nursing care in Pre-op, PACU, and OR settings.
• Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and implement care plans.
• Monitor patients post-operatively for progress and complications.
• Educate patients and caregivers on discharge instructions and recovery.
• Participate in admitting and discharging patients in a timely, safe manner.
• Support infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and maintaining a clean peri-operative environment.
• Respond competently to emergency situations and alarms.
• Collaborate in QAPI initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and orientation of new personnel.
