Job summary

SCA Health in Pensacola, FL seeks a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join the PreOp PACU team. The role involves assessing patients before and after surgery, managing pain and vitals, and coordinating with anesthesia providers.

You will perform perianesthesia care, monitor recovery and ensure safe discharge according to policy, while communicating patient status and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited nursing program and current RN license.
• One year preoperative or PACU experience preferred.
• Medical/surgical nursing background required.
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications or ability to obtain within required time.

Responsibilities

• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per facility policy.
• Monitor cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological systems and pain.
• Interpret monitors and apply discharge criteria per policy.
• Develop perianesthesia plan and manage recovery from anesthesia.
• Communicate patient status and provide education to family as needed.
• Provide safe medication administration and protect patient safety.
