Job summary
Brandon Surgery Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Perioperative Nurse (PRN) to deliver preoperative and postoperative care until discharge. You will support the surgical team with a focus on safety, efficiency, and patient comfort.
The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma, 1+ year PACU/ICU/Surgery experience, and active RN license, plus BCLS, ACLS within 30 days. Benefits include comprehensive plans and wellness support.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery.
- Active RN license as required by state of employment.
- BCLS Certification required; online certification not acceptable.
- ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
- PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patient care area before case.
- Ensure availability of equipment and supplies for the procedure.
- Conduct complete physical and history/diagnostic assessment.
- Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
- Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks as appropriate.
- Check dressings and operative site; report abnormalities.
- Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
