Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc in Fairhope, Alabama is seeking a Pre-Operative/Post-Operative Registered Nurse to provide peri-operative patient care under the PACU leadership. You will assess patients on arrival, plan care, monitor status, and communicate changes to physicians and family, ensuring comfort, privacy and dignity.

Responsibilities include directing ancillary staff, documenting in the medical record, delivering discharge instructions, and supporting NSH benchmarking for quality care while

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved school of professional nursing with current and valid licensure.
• Minimum of two years in ICU/ED/Recovery or critical care nursing environment.
• Ability to achieve CPR, ACLS, PALS certification within 60 days of employment.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication for safe patient care and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and documents patient's physical and emotional status upon arrival in the PACU.
• Provides direct patient care in the post-operative period and plans care.
• Monitors patient status and informs surgeon/anesthesia of changes.
• Completes and documents a pre-operative and post-anesthesia record.
• Provides post-operative discharge instructions and supplies as needed.
• Directs and supervises ancillary personnel in care planning and execution.
• Reviews daily schedule and prepares patient care areas.
• Participates in service recovery and maintains patient comfort and privacy.
