Job summary

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating preoperative and postoperative nursing care until discharge.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably PACU/ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS certification required at employment (online cert not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients’ care area adequately before case.
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Conduct complete physical and psychosocial assessment and evaluation of patient history and tests.
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Demonstrate proper technique for IV catheters and saline locks.
• Check dressings or operative site and report abnormalities to surgeon.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
