Job summary

Sparrow Ionia Hospital in Ionia, MI seeks a Registered Nurse in Perioperative Departments to provide professional nursing care and direct co-workers in implementing care plans to maximize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include assessments, documentation, medication and treatment administration, and on-call coverage. Requires Michigan RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS preferred, and surgical nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Currently Licensed with the State of Michigan to practice as a Registered Nurse
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
• ACLS and PALS Certification preferred
• Surgical nursing experience preferred
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and staff; basic computer/EMR knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Independently implements the nursing process in the Peri-Operative department, including OR, endoscopy, pre-op, PACU and post-op
• Performs assessments, monitors patients, and ensures safety and quality of care
• Documents nursing care and interventions in medical records
• Reports on patient status and clinical findings
• Delegates and supervises care plan implementation to LPNs and other staff
• Educates patients/families regarding treatments and care plans
• Responds to emergencies and participates in performance improvement activities
